ACCREDITATION PROCESS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract
In recent years, it has become important to investigate various methods that can be applied in quality development in higher education with globalization. Today, the importance of the information society is the most important factor. The signing of new agreements covering mutual exchange of education and training among countries, mobility and change in education and training increase the search for quality and competition among countries and universities. In particular, information and communication technologies have become important both in education in general and accounting education in particular. Nowadays, new concepts including quality, quality management and accreditation etc. are used in universities, especially in the field of social sciences. In recent years, more diversification of education types and expertise documents in distance education and virtual environment have been used for education. Although the student programs prepared in higher education are predominantly directed abroad, the necessity to apply the processes such as preparation and project mobility, quality, quality management and accreditation in higher education has been revealed. One of the most important tools used in quality management is accreditation. In this study, the concepts of quality, quality management and quality management in higher education and accreditation are explained and the importance of accreditation process in the framework of quality management are explained. As a result, it is aimed to evaluate the quality and quality management studies carried out especially in higher education and to contribute to the literature to improve the current situation by examining the accreditation studies.
