A research on the relationship between gendarmerie personnel's information literacy and technology proficiency levels

​Information literacy is a qualification that gains great importance especially in the process of transition to information society. Today, advances in technology and integration into security services have increased the importance of technology and information literacy among security service personnel. In this research, it is aimed to examine the relationship between gendarmerie personnel 's information literacy and technology proficiency levels. Survey was conducted on n = 390 gendarmerie personnel in charge of Tunceli Gendarmerie Command between January and May 2018 in this framework. According to the findings of the research, technological sufficiency levels show statistically significant differences according to education and rank (p <0.05). The definition of need for information is statistically significant according to age, education, professional experience and rank (p <0.05). Differences between all scales except for these differences were not statistically significant (p> 0.05). According to the results of correlation analysis, no statistically significant relationship was found between technology sufficiency and information literacy dimensions (p> 0.05).
